As a writer I know how important the editing process is. Unfortunately, I also know how grueling and tedious the editing process can be.
A good editor is usually very expensive–but you often need to have your project edited multiple times. That can really add up. When I was working on Bewilderments of the Eyes, I went through four separate editors, a proofreader, and a critic. Full discloser, I spent about $1,450 on editing for that one project! And I can’t even say I have buyer’s remorse because the editing was essential. There was no way I was putting out a book that hadn’t been thoroughly combed through by several sets of eyes until it was perfect. I’m trying to build a platform and a reputation, after all.
Still, there’s always the worry that you’ve paid-up-front for a subpar editor. It’s risky and scary to put your work-your baby, your life’s ambition-into someone else’s hands for criticism. So, here’s my offer:
I will proofread and content edit your writing to the absolute best of my abilities, and in a timely fashion. I can guarantee honest, well-thought-out track comments via Microsoft Word and a summary of my thoughts at the end.
